Celebrating the globalization of “subterranean saffron farming system”

The celebration of the globalization of the “subterranean saffron cultivation system” of Gonabad city with the focus on Sano village has been registered as the fifty-fifth most important world agricultural heritage system “GIAHS” and the third agricultural heritage of Iran in the FAO.

The celebration of the globalization of the “aqueduct-based saffron cultivation system” in Gonabad city with the focus on Sano village as the fifty-fifth most important world agricultural heritage system “GIAHS” and the third agricultural heritage of Iran has been registered in FAO by the celebration headquarters headed by Governor Hamed Ghorbani Gonabad was held in Sno village. Mehdi Zolfaghari, a member of the Snow Council, was praised as the proponent of saffron in the village of Snow because of his efforts and those of his fellow villagers and farmers in recent years, and received the FAO plaque from Tahmasbi, Deputy Minister of Jihad for Agriculture. Simultaneously with the World Registration Celebration, with the presence of Razm Hosseini, Governor of Khorasan Razavi, the unveiling of a special stamp commemorating the registration of the Gonabad saffron-based aquaculture system in the village of Sano Gonabad took place.
