According to Mehr News Agency, quoting the Commodity Exchange, the Director General of the Office of Cold and Dried Fruits of the Ministry of Jihad Agriculture announced: According to statistics, in the first six months of this year, about 63,000 tons of pistachios worth 426 million and 127 thousand dollars were exported. Compared to the same period last year, it shows an increase of eight thousand tons.
Regarding Iranian pistachio exports, Darab Hassani added: In the first 6 months of 1399, about 55,000 tons of pistachios worth $ 392,929 were exported to target countries.
The Director General of the Office of Cold and Dried Fruits of the Deputy Minister of Horticulture of the Ministry of Jihad for Agriculture announced the estimated production of pistachios this year as 278,426 tons in the country and predicted that the export of this product this year will be about 200,000 tons.
Hassani added: “According to the latest FAO statistics in 2019, Iran ranks first in the world in terms of production and area under cultivation, and second in terms of exports after the United States.”
Director General of the Office of Cold and Dried Fruits of the Deputy Minister of Horticulture of the Ministry of Jihad Agriculture added: The amount of pistachio production in 1399 was about 358 thousand and 244 tons, of which 203 thousand and 637 tons worth one billion and 371 million dollars has been exported.
He said: “Despite the low level of production this year compared to last year, it is expected that the amount of exports of this product will have a good trend as in 1999.”
